Hardy Boys

Boys and girls worldwide traipsed around the United States with the Frank and Joe. Unlike Nancy, they were actually in school, but you usually couldn't tell it by their adventures. Although Nancy Drew got in all kinds of scrapes, she relied mostly on her skills of deduction. Hardy Boys were more action oriented. Action! Action! Action! Besides, their father was a real detective so they had access to all kinds of secrets.

The Stratemeyer Syndicate series was started by Leslie McFarlane in 1927 and continues today with the Hardy Boys and the Hardy Boys Files. (See titles)

The Hardy Boys Files are supposed to appeal to older readers. The Hardy Boys have finally graduated and Joe's girlfriend, Iola, was killed on the first page of the first book. They include more violence, international intrigue and more James Bond-type technology. Frank is now a computer hacker.
