As a child, I read all of Catherine Woolley's series, but my favorite was Ginnie and Geneva. Ginnie moved and started going to a new school. After a rocky start, she developed a close friendship with Geneva. Sometimes the series flirted with mysteries, but usually it focused on relationships and activities Ginnie became involved in.
Ginnie and Geneva were in fourth grade and attended Lincoln School. Ginnie was thin and long-legged with short, light brown hair and wide hazel eyes. She lived at 82 Red Robin Lane in a white house. She had previously lived in hotels because her father traveled a lot for business. While Ginnie was somewhat shy and almost always kind, Geneva was outgoing and sometimes brash. Their friends were Peter Ladd, the serious boy with blond hair and glasses who lived next door to Ginnie, Lucy and Leonard, twins, and Anna, shy and poor.
